It’s officially September. A time for starting back to school, a slight “re-start” in the year, all the fall activities. While this fall might look different than years’ past, the change of season is still a signal to our minds and bodies of a time to take stock of where we are and where we want to go.

Staying true with that theme, I’ve taken stock of my studio. My sketchbook. The things that are inspiring me. Right now, if you took a walk through my home (or even scrolled through my instagram), you’d see that I’m inspired by moody hues combined with light. Deep blues and greens paired with highlights and breathy brush marks. Thick texture paired with light blues.

For me, this is the theme of the end of summer. Hot days paired with moody hues. Sticky skin while sitting next to a body of water (even if that body of water is a kiddie pool). A muggy morning. Afternoon thunderstorms. And the promise of change.

I’ve translated all of this into the latest collection: End of Summer. Through thick texture, drippy backgrounds, breathy brushstrokes, greens and blues - I’m giving you a peek into what End of Summer means for me.

I encourage you to use this change in season to take stock of where you are in life, what's inspiring you, and how you can use that going into this new season.

Cheers,

Erin
